Pittsburgh (South)

  • - Rte. 51 South to Rte. 119 South (Uniontown)
  • - Turn right onto Rte. 119 South
  • - In one mile, Rte. 119 South will merge with
  • - Rte. 40 East.
  • - The roads run together for a few miles.
  • - When the roads split, continue on
  • - Rte. 40 East
  • - Summit Inn is located on the right side of Rte. 40 East (top of the mountain)

Pittsburgh (Airport, West, and North)

  • - Rte. 60 South to I-79 South
  • - I-79 South to I-70 East (Washington, PA)
  • - I-70 East to I-43 South (California exit)
  • - I-43 South (toll) to Rte. 40 East (Brownsville)
  • - Travel through the town of Brownsville
  • - One mile east of Brownsville, turn left onto
  • - I-43 South (toll)
  • - Travel approximately eight miles to the end of I-43.
  • - Turn right at the end of exit ramp and then an immediate left at stop sign.
  • - Travel ½ mile and turn right onto Rte. 51 South
  • - Travel ¼ mile and turn right onto Rte. 119 South
  • - In one mile, Rte. 119 South will merge with Rte. 40 East
  • - The roads run together for a few miles
  • - When the roads split, continue on
  • - Rte. 40 East
  • - Summit Inn is located on the right side of Rte. 40 East (top of the mountain)

Pittsburgh (East)

  • - PA Turnpike to Rte. 119 South (Exit 75 - New Stanton)
  • - Rte. 119 South through Connellsville and merges with Rte. 40 East in Uniontown
  • - When the roads split, continue on Rte 40 East
  • - Summit Inn is located on the right side of Rte 40 East (top of the mountain)

From the North (Erie)

  • - Follow Airport directions (except for first direction)

From the West (Cincinnati, Columbus)

  • - Follow Airport directions (starting with the third direction - I-70 East to I-43 South)

From the Northwest (Akron, Cleveland, Toledo)

  • - OH Turnpike to PA Turnpike
  • - Then follow Pittsburgh (East) directions

From the South (Morgantown, WV)

  • - I-68 East to Cheat Lake exit
  • - Rte 857 North to I-43 North
  • - I-43 North to Rte. 40 East
  • - Continue on Rte 40 East approx. four miles
  • - Summit Inn is located on the right side of Rte. 40 (top of mountain)

From the East (Harrisburg, Philadelphia)

  • - I-81 South to I-70 West
  • - I-70 West to I-68 West (Hancock, MD)
  • - I-68 West to Rte 40 West (Exit 14B - Keysers Ridge, Uniontown PA)
  • - Turn left at light onto Rte 40 West
  • - Continue Rte 40 West approx. 25 miles
  • - One mile beyond Village of Chalk Hill is the Summit Inn - left side of Rte 40 (top of mountain)

From the Southeast (Washington, DC and Baltimore)

  • - I-270 North to I-70 West
  • - I-70 West to I-68 West (Hancock, MD)
  • - I-68 West to Rte 40 West (Exit 14B - Keysers Ridge, Uniontown PA)
  • - Turn left at light onto Rte 40 West
  • - Continue Rte 40 West approx. 25 miles
  • - One mile beyond Village of Chalk Hill is the Summit Inn - left side of Rte 40 (top of mountain)

From New York City

  • - I-78 West to I-81 South (near Harrisburg,PA)
