The Summit Inn Tour
One of the few "great porch" hotels left in the country the view from this historic land mark offers a panorama of 5 counties. Designed in the Arts and Crafts era, the lobby of the Inn offers cozy seating in the original Stickley designed Mission style furniture. In this popular gathering place, guests enjoy the fireplace atmosphere around the massive stone hearth. Other original furnishings are seen throughout, including the Steinway piano, the Black Forest coat rack and Bavarian cuckoo clock. Historic documents and photos decorate the lobby and hallways.

Within the lobby you will find our registration desk. Here you "sign in" on the very spot where famous notable figures such as Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, J. P. Morgan and Presidents Harding and Truman once did. Although computerized registration has replaced the handwritten register, the desk and room key slots remain as they saw it.
While a few of our rooms are located directly off the lobby, the remainder of our 94 rooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floors. Rising from the lobby, the "Grand Staircase", where it is rumored that President Harding once "took a tumble", branches off to our east and west wings where a select number of rooms offer a splendid view of the valley some 2,300 feet below.
